This is the traditional, single-sheet door that has been on UK garages for decades.
How it works: The entire solid panel is hinged at the top. When you open it, the bottom swings outwards and the whole door lifts to a horizontal position, where it rests partly inside and partly outside the garage, forming a canopy.
Space & look: Needs clear space in front to open. Can feel a bit "heavy" to lift manually. Robust and classic, but can look a bit bulky when open.
A step up from the canopy, offering smoother operation and better automation compatibility.
How it works: Like the canopy, the door swings out and up, but the entire panel retracts fully into the garage on horizontal tracks. This keeps the door neatly tucked away when open.
